image2Coppola’s Director’s wines were created to honor Francis Ford Coppola’s two great loves: wine and film. The Director’s family with a line-up of limited-edition wines inspired by directors and movies that Francis holds in greatest admiration. Director’s Great Movies wine labels feature reproductions of retro-futuristic movie posters by Laurent Durieux, an artist much admired by Francis.

These wines are set apart from our original Director’s wines. They are comprised of different blends that feature fruit sourced not just from Sonoma County, but Monterey, Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo as well. By blending fruit from multiple appellations, we are able to create wines with expressive textural dimension and lush, juicy fruit flavors.

Gems of Napa Valley

The 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has an enticing nose of blackberries, bay leaf and graphite. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and reminiscent of cocoa-dusted dark chocolate truffles, cloves, and blackberries. 91 points from Robert Parker.
The 2014 Carneros Chardonnay has a pale yellow straw color. Aromas of white flowers, stone fruit, lemon zest, and a hint of vanilla, lead to a rich and enveloping palate of lychee fruit and toasted almonds, with bright, mouth-watering acidity.
